JD Library

JD Library was established in the year 1893 along with Papal Seminary at Kandy, Sri Lanka. It was shifted to Pune with Papal Seminary in 1955. It is one of the top philosophy and theology libraries in South Asia with more than 1,00,000 books, 29,000 bound volumes periodicals. It subscribes to about 200 or so current journals and weeklies. Its digital library includes ATLA (American Theological Library Association) E-Journals, E-Books from publishers like Bloomsbury, EBSCO and De Gruyter.

The resources are mostly in English. There are also some in Indian vernacular languages and in foreign languages. The library also has a good collection of multi- volume encyclopaedias and Bible Commentaries. We also have palm- leaf manuscripts and rare book collections dating 16th and 17th century.
