The tournament commenced with an impressive opening ceremony graced by the presence of the JD President, the JDSC Animator, and the Chief Guest, Prof. Jesuraj Rayappan, along with other respected dignitaries and faculty members. Their presence and words of encouragement added inspiration and dignity to the event.
The tournament was conducted in a league format, ensuring fair play and equal opportunity for all participating teams. The first match kicked off with a competitive game between the First STB and the Fourth-Year Deacons. The final match took place between the Second-Year Philosophy (PG) and the Third-Year Philosophy students. After a thrilling and closely contested game, the Third-Year Philosophers emerged as the champions of the tournament.
The closing ceremony of the Football Tournament was held on 25th July 2025, marking the official conclusion of the event. Prizes and trophies were awarded to the winning team and runners-up. The Inter-Class Football Tournament was not only a celebration of sports and teamwork but also a living example of this year's theme, “I Am Because We Are.” It fostered unity, collaboration, and a healthy spirit of competition among the students of Jnana Deepa.
The Inter-Class Basketball Tournament 2025 was conducted with great enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship, bringing together students in a spirit of unity and hope held on the theme “Hoops of Hope”. This year’s tournament highlighted how sports not only strengthens the body but also helps build character, discipline, and brotherhood.
The Chief Guest for the event was Rev. Fr Denis Dominic Joseph, a priest renowned for his dedication to holistic formation, spiritual growth, and value-based education. In his address, he encouraged the students to nurture discipline, teamwork, and balance—qualities essential both on and off the court.
The league stage featured four pools, with teams competing in a round-robin format. The semi-finals were played in an electrifying atmosphere, with students lining the sidelines to cheer for their classmates. The tournament concluded with a thrilling final between the Third Year Philosophers and the Second Year Theologians, where the 2nd Year Theologians emerged as the Champions of the Inter-Class Basketball Tournament 2025.
