Collage Making Competition
On 14th July 2025, the JD Literary Wing conducted a collage-making competition on the theme “Pilgrims of Hope” in the Papal Hall, inviting students to explore the transformative power of hope through their creative ideas and enthusiastic engagement by reflecting their daily lived experience. The competition was open to all students of Theology and Philosophy. A total of 15 teams participated, and each class was allowed to submit any number of entries. Each team comprised three members. Only chart paper was provided by the organizers, whereas participants were required to bring all other necessary materials.
Group ‘First Benchers’ from the second year Philosophy won the first place. Group ‘Pope Francis’ from third year philosophy won the second place and ‘Pitiful Pilgrims’ from second year secured third place. The judges for the competition were Fr. Naveen Rebelo SVD and Fr. Malleswara Rao SJ.
Poetry Writing Competition
The Literary Wing organized an inspiring poetry competition on the 7th of October, on the theme “Journey Together Towards Horizon.” The event aimed to encourage creativity, imagination, and self-expression among students while reflecting on the shared hopes and aspirations for a better future.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students across various classes. Each participant beautifully expressed their thoughts through heartfelt verses, weaving emotions, experiences, and visions of collective progress. The theme inspired poems about unity, resilience, environmental consciousness, friendship, and the power of working together to shape a brighter tomorrow. A total of 15 participated, and each class was allowed to submit any number of entries. The theme was given on the spot.
Sr. Caroline Wanglar MSMHC evaluated the poems based on creativity, originality, language, expression, and relevance to the theme. The performances were captivating, with many poets using vivid imagery and rhythmic flow to convey their message. Bro. Kalivela Sanny from 1st year of Theology secured the first position, Bleston Lobo from third year Philosophy secured the Second place and Mario D.Lawren from the second year of Philosophy secured the Third place.
