Inaugural Mass & Lectio Brevis 2025-26

The academic year 2025–2026 at Jnana-Deepa (JD), Pune began with prayerful solemnity and enthusiasm on Monday, June 9, 2025. The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at the Papal Seminary Chapel by Most Rev. Bishop Malcolm Sequeira, Bishop of Amravati. In his homily, Bishop Sequeira highlighted the mission of theological institutions as spaces where faith encounters reason and where students are formed to respond creatively and courageously to the challenges of the contemporary world. In the Lectio Brevis Bishop Sequeira offered a brief yet thoughtful introduction highlighting the Bishop’s pastoral engagement and theological contributions. He invited the JD community to remain rooted in Christ while embracing the complex realities of today’s world with theological depth and pastoral sensitivity. His reflections stirred both minds and hearts, calling for a theology that is incarnational, dialogical, and hope-filled.
